How to get more clients
Are you looking for simple and unusual ways to find more clients?
Are you tired of handing out business cards?
Are you at that point in business when you feel like you’re trying your very best but it’s not enough?
Just like you, I was a young entrepreneur who was new to networking and finding clients. A few years ago when I started my accounting and financial service firm, I would go to networking events, cold call prospects, buy leads, knock on doors, collect surveys <these could all be SEO words>, you name it, I’ve tried it. It cost me a whole lot of time and money before I learned my lesson.
I didn’t have trouble connecting with people, in fact, I could build rapport immediately at networking events. My mistake came after potential clients asked, “What do you do?” I would get excited and recite a long list of all the services my financial firm provided. The problem, a common one among business owners, was that I bombarded my new acquaintance with too much information and they weren’t able to retain a specific use for my services. Although most people responded by asking for my business card, I hardly ever heard back from anyone. I was ready to give up, what was I doing wrong?
Here are some tips to get out of this rut and find more clients:
- Choose one product or service for each conversation you have with a potential client. Even if your company offers 100 other things, if you overwhelm potential customers, nothing will stick.
- It’s important to remember that people don’t buy what they need, they buy what they want. The secret is to tap into their subconscious mind to get them to want what they really need. I will send you another video on how to unlock the buyer’s subconscious.
- The key to networking is to identify a problem your new acquaintance has, then offer them the solution as your one service. Be the solution guy (or gal!) Once you establish trust, people will continue to buy from you time and time again.
- Remember to focus on the needs of others. The rule is, when you focus on your needs, it costs you money. But when you focus on the needs of others, it makes you money!
This wasn’t easy for me, and it won’t be easy for you either. Nothing good in life is easy, but don’t make it impossible! Believe and invest in yourself and the rest will come.
Reach out if you’re struggling. We can work together to find a solution! One love.
